What happens when two escape room fanatics decide they can’t get enough puzzles?

Island Quest was born in July 2018, when we opened our doors in Centro Comercial El Pueblo. It might not be the busiest spot in Playa Blanca —but that was exactly the point. We found a blank canvas and turned it into a world of mythical adventures, magical markets, and prehistoric heists.

And we’ve been building adventures ever since.

Helena – Creative Director & Game Designer

With a background in Theatre Design, Helena is the one responsible for bringing each world to life—from the first concept to the final detail.

The idea for Island Quest started back in 2016, after discovering escape rooms on a rainy day while travelling in New Zealand (turns out Queenstown doesn’t offer many indoor adventures when the weather turns).

That one experience sparked an idea: to create something creative, immersive, and—most importantly—fun.

Since then, Helena has designed and built every game space, turning empty rooms into fully realised adventures.

She’s also an avid gamer, which probably explains the occasional “how do they think of these things” suprises in some puzzles.

Gill – Operations Manager & Puzzle Designer

Gill keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes—organised, efficient, and making sure your experience goes exactly as it should.

With a background in hospitality management, she originally moved to Lanzarote for a quieter, more relaxed lifestyle… before being persuaded (or possibly tricked) into helping build an escape room.

Fortunately, she turned out to be a natural.

Gill has a real talent for logic puzzles and now plays a key role in designing the challenges you’ll encounter in-game—making sure they’re just the right balance of clever, satisfying and logical.

Our “Security” Team

Loki, Nimbus & Pascal are our three chihuahua mascots and unofficial security team.

They take their roles very seriously—mainly supervising the office, monitoring snack supplies, and keeping a close eye on daily operations.

You might spot them behind the scenes during your visit.
